I'll Be There is book 6 in the Montgomery Series, a series centered around an extended family who works hard together, plays hard together and loved one another deeply. Each member of the family has their individual story and finds their happily-ever-after. This is the story of Zach Montgomery and Gabriella Martine, who we have met in previous books. The sparks between the have always been electric, but both have done their best to ignore them. When Zach is injured the only one that will put up with his surly moods is Gabby. Will he finally realize that she is perfect for him, or will he push her so far away that he will never get her back?

“Oh, stop. We agreed we weren’t looking back, right?”

He nodded. “Right.” God he wanted to keep talking to her but he could hear it in her voice that she was tired. “Why don’t I let you go and get some sleep and I’ll see you tomorrow?”

“Mmm,” she sighed. “I’m sorry. If it wasn’t quite so late…”

“It’s all right, Gabs. Really.”

“Okay. I don’t want you to be mad.”

“Not mad. Disappointed. I’m finding I really like spending time with you.”

“I like it too.”

She was killing him.

“I guess I could come over.”

Her words were said so quickly that Zach thought he might have imagined them. “What did you say?”

“It…it was nothing. Never mind. I’ll just plan on seeing you tomorrow.”

“You said you could come over. Like now.”

“It’s late,” she said softly.

“Do you have a curfew?”

She giggled. “No.”

“That’s good. Neither do I.”

“But…it’s crazy, Zach. It’s not like we can get anything done tonight.”

He wasn’t so sure about that. “So? We’ll watch a movie or we’ll start our online research and making our plan for tomorrow.”

“I’m…I’m kind of in my jammies already.”

Was it too much to hope that it was scraps of silk and lace and she’d kept her stilettos on? “Me too.”

Now she laughed a little harder. “Oh really?”

“Yup. Really. Flannel pants, a t-shirt. Very jammie-ish.”

“I don’t even think that’s a word, Zach.”

“It doesn’t need to be. Come on. I’m not expecting you to come over in business attire, Gabs. I’ve seen you in jeans and dressed casually. It’s not a big deal.”

“I don’t normally drive around a whole lot at night.”

As much as he wanted to see her and spend time with her, he certainly wasn’t going to be selfish and endanger her by making her drive around late at night. If he was ready to drive on his own, he’d suggest going over to her place, but he hadn’t gotten the clearance from his doctor yet.

“It’s okay, Gabriella. We’ll leave things as we originally planned and I’ll see you tomorrow for lunch.” He sighed quietly and got comfortable on the couch. “I don’t want you driving around by yourself late at night.”

“You’re very sweet.”

He laughed darkly. “I bet it hurt to say that.”

“Go,” he forced himself to say. “Goodnight, Gabriella.”

She made that purring sound again and everything in Zach hardened. “Goodnight, Zach.”

Christmas in the City

So if you're someone who reads my books - and hopefully you do! - you know that I LOVE writing Christmas romances.  I love reading them, I love writing them...just love, love, love.  Authors in the City was the very first signing that I ever did up in New York City back in 2014.  The ladies who put that event together are AMAZING.  So when they approached me about being part of a project where I would donate a Christmas romance to an anthology that would benefit a children's charity, I was immediately on board!

"Christmas in the City" has fourteen stories by fifteen amazing authors.

I am honored to be part of this project.  The anthology went up for pre-order on Amazon this morning and is currently only .99 cents.  My hope is that everyone - even if you don't read a lot of romances or if you don't know all the authors on the list - will still buy this book because all of the proceeds are going to charity!

And I'm going to get up on my soapbox for a minute - in my 46 years of life I have hosted DOZENS of home parties.  I'm talking Tupperware, Pampered Chef, Creative Memories, Usbourne Books, Tastefully Simple and I'm sure I'm missing a few.  I've supported school fundraisers for children of my friends as well as donating to them for my own son's schools over the years.  That being said, I have spent hundreds - if not THOUSANDS - of dollars supporting my friends and their endeavors.  I'm asking or .99 cents.  That's it.  Upload it to your eReader.  If you read it, great.  If you don't, that's fine too.  But know this - by supporting this cause you are helping people who maybe cannot help themselves.  The money raised by "Christmas in the City" is going to a children's hospital in Orlando near where Authors in the City will be hosting their 2016 signing in March.  We will be presenting a check to the hospital while we are there.  So if you can buy a hundred dollars worth of specialty home goods to support a friend's business, can't you spare a dollar to help a charitable cause?

Stepping down.

My contribution to the anthology is a novella (only 20K words!) called "Waiting for Midnight".  It's short and sweet and completely adorable.  For right now it is ONLY available as part of "Christmas in the City".  And again, it's only .99 cents.
